Welcome Parents, Faculty and Students,
Hello all,
My name is Ms. Williams and I will have the privilege of facilitating the educational process for your scholars this school year. "Teaching" is not what I do, it is who I am! I have an extreme desire to ensure that my classroom is one that is innately centered around the learner. I subscribe to the ideology that the only way to ensure that students attach meaning to the material presented to them is to involve them in the learning process. While they will not have complete autonomy over what they are learning, they will be required to participate heavily in the process. My absolute favorite quote is “Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else’s opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” (Oscar Wilde) This is the one fear that I have for students, and the one part of the world in which I know I will make a difference. My students’ thoughts will be their own, because we will spend time expounding on them and finding meaning and direction. My students will be passionate about life and about learning not solely because I am, but because each day in my classroom will present a new opportunity for them to analyze information and attach value to it... not because I said so, or educators before me said so, but because they have decided for themselves that education is valuable.
Here you will be able to access all of the information and activities relative to Ms. Williams' ELA Courses
Parents: I look forward to interacting with you as much as possible. Here you will be able to view on a weekly basis what we are learning via the classroom calendar. You will also be able to view the major assignments for the week, and lend your expertise to your child where applicable. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me, my email address is : [email protected] or [email protected]
Students: Remember...if you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to view, download and COMPLETE the daily assignment
